So, in the first of many posts that will be filled with gratuitously gross decaying pipe photos, we bring you the story of our sewer! Yes, the physical inspection warned us in a vague way of the path that lay ahead for us and our, um, refuse. Our sewer line was old, like really old, probably original, was made of terra cotta and had succumbed to the roots of not one, but three trees in our yard. So we invested in the first big project- replacing the line. We have a great plumber, who came out with his crew and made quick work of it all, as soon as we pulled our permit. Enjoy the shots of the process, with descriptions:
(trenching a line from the back house to the property line)
(mmmm, sure, that could have lasted for another 10 years...)
(look closely, folks, that ain't just tree roots in them there pipes)
(under the orange tree....we're hoping this tree makes it!)
(nice, empty ditches waiting for new pipes)
(keeping it American!)
