First comes the platform, then comes storage...

This is a story of stuff, lots of stuff....too much stuff, perhaps. When we imagined finally moving to our first house, we assumed that we would have more storage than we did at our 850 sq. ft. apartment. Well.....not so much. For reasons both temporary and permanent. First the temporary: We have decided to update our front house before we move in. In fact most of what you will see from here on out will be about all the things that we face as we give our 98 year old home a facelift (and some major internal work as well....). Since we aren't in the front house, we are all living in the back house (550 sq. ft.) with one (small) closet. Don't get me wrong, it works...but for all three of us, it's tight. And the permanent storage issue: we have no garage....at all. Yes, in 1912 you were more likely to have a horse or two than one of those newfangled Model T's that Mr. Ford was pushing on everyone. So, that means one thing: we need to make our own storage. Hence, the deck! Yes, we will not pay $150/month to store our worldly goods. Instead, we will stick it to the man and build a platform, stack all our junk on it, and cover it with a screen tent....and we'll deal with the spiders when the time comes.....So here are photos of the deck getting built by Manish and several of our great friends- thanks guys!!!
